There is (7) fabulous white castle on (8) hill above Velenje. Today (9) castle has been completely restored, and it houses (10) museum. (11) museum consists of ten collections, among others (12) collection of
African art of (13) Czech sculptor František Foit. In (14) north-eastern defence tower of (15) castle there is (16) chapel. In (17) former stables, (18) remains of (19) mastodon found near Velenje
are preserved. There is also (20) ski-jump on (21) castle hill. |

Twenty-four gigantic rocks rise from (22) ground on (23) plain of Thessaly
in northern Greece. (24) area of Metéora is (25) amazing marvel of nature, now known as “(26)
rocky forest of Greece”. It was originally settled by monks who lived in caves within (27) rocks
during (28) 11th century. But as (29) times became more unsure because of numerous wars, they
climbed higher and higher up (30) rock face until they were living on (31)
inaccessible peaks. They brought material and people up with ladders and baskets and built
(32) first monasteries. Out of (33) 24 monasteries that grew up between (34) 13th and 16th
centuries only six are still inhabited. |
